How can I redirect my old Wix domain to a new one on Shopify?

We are a coffee shop recently concluded a rebrand and had a new website created on Shopify to host our online platform including - online sales, information on locations, etc.

Our initial website is currently hosted under wix, purchased on go-daddy, with a name like “GenericCoffeeHouse.com” we have rebranded to have a name like “GenericCoffeeRoasters.com” hosted on shopify. We are unable to forward the homepage on wix to the new website on shopfiy due to wix rules.

Is there a way to have the entire “GenericCoffeeHouse.com” domain off of wix and automatically feed into our “GenericCoffeeRoasters.com” shopify website so we don’t have such an SEO divide and simplify the customer experience to just be on Shopify?

I believe I have included all relevant information, but this is a topic I don’t have a deep knowledge on, so please let me know if you need any more information!

Yes. You can go to into Settings > Domains > Connect Existing Domain.

You’ll then follow the instructions from there.

Keep in mind if your worried about SEO, you’ll want to generate 301 redirects from the old Wix pages to your Shopify store. If you don’t know how to do that, a Shopify Expert can definitely help you.

It depends on exactly what you want to do. You can redirect your entire site by setting up domain forwarding on GoDaddy - article here: https://ca.godaddy.com/help/forward-my-godaddy-domain-12123

This will forward the entire domain to your new domain.
