Issue: A deleted Shopify collection still appears in Google search results; clicking it returns a 404 (page not found). The merchant set up a URL redirect as a workaround and wants the result removed from search.
Context: Site is lmsaqa.com. The outdated collection shows when searching for “lmsaqa.” The merchant also edited SEO fields for products/collections and created pages with updated SEO, but these changes haven’t appeared in search results.
Responses/Guidance: Support requested the store URL and advised that Google needs time to update its index (indexing = when a search engine records pages for search). They suggested waiting 24–48 hours for Google to refresh results after changes are indexed, sharing Google forum links for expected timelines. They asked whether the edits are visible in the editor.
Outcome/Status: No immediate removal method was provided; the only recommended action is to wait for Google to recrawl/update. No confirmation that search results have changed yet. The thread remains unresolved/ongoing, with support encouraging acceptance of the answer if helpful.
Hello I had a collection but then deleted it but it is still shows up on the search engine. Then when clicking it , it says page not found. So I found a solution to redirect this page to another page using URL. But is there any solution to remove it from the search engine?
