I created a store for a customer and I used one of my paid themes for it. I have the license for it, but since I am not the store owner and now he receives notifications that the store would be shut down because he uses the theme without license. I uploaded it as a zip file.
Can anyone help me solve it ?

Even if you are the owner of the theme, you will have to request your client to purchase the theme from the theme store. We cannot sell a theme that is listed on the theme store from anywhere else other than the theme store itself. It is illegal to sell the .zip version of the theme on your own.

Hi @theycallmemakka thank you for your reply. I meant that I didn’t sell it, but I simply used it for free on his shop because it was easier.
So every time that I build a shop the customer will have to bay for the theme ? I see many offer free premium themes on Fiverr for instance as a part of the deal

The theme has to be bought for every new store. If the theme is listed on shopify theme store, you cannot even resale it on any other platform.
