How can I set up weight and package size based international shipping from the UK?

I’m trying to set up International Shipping for my store.

I’ve watched loads of YouTube Video’s etc, but all of them give examples of shipping from the USA and Canada which is of no help to me shipping from the UK.

The problem I have is that shipping within and from the UK Internationally is both weight and package size based !

The doesn’t seem to be an option to set this in shopify.

Can anyone help ?

I’m not really looking for a mind-blowing expensive App either, enough of my profits are being soaked up by them as it is, so all of you App writers please ignore.

Hey @Mad_Modeler .

Thanks for reaching out.

I appreciate the context that you have shared with us! If you would like to set a specific box size for shipping to the UK, you can do so by navigating to Settings > Shipping and Delivery > Add package. This will allow you to enter in a custom sized box that can be selected when you are purchasing a shipping label. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:

Once that has been entered, we will then need to make sure that the UK has been added to the shipping profiles as an available shipping zone. This will then allow you to control which rates will be displayed for your customers depending on the total weight of the order.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I am shipping FROM the UK, and do not use one standard size box.

Hi @Mad_Modeler ,

Since you are not using a single box, the only way possible right now to handle it in Shopify is to use an app. May I know which shipping carrier you are using?

Hi

I don’t actually use a single box, I tend to recycle boxes I get deliveries in, it saves money and helps save the planet.

At the moment, I use Parcel to Go, to send parcels, choices for International Delivery are limited.

The problem I have is calculating a price for all the countries I am likely to deliver to,

ie: A parcel to New Zealand cost me over £40, the same parcel to Italy for example would cost half that.

Also, UK couriers need dimensions and weight to calculate cost.
