I’m looking for what seems like a very standard type of report.
Am I going crazy, or does Shopify not have a chart/report showing the total number of orders by month over time?

The only way I could figure out how to do that was to export the Total Sales report, split apart the date field in Excel, set up a PivotTable, and customize it with various filters and columns.
This is a haul for something I’d like to look at frequently just to see how we’re doing over time.
Questions:
- Have I just overlooked something obvious and built-in?
- If not, are there any free apps that would help make this one report on-demand? (I’ll make do if the only alternative is spending another $120/year for something so basic.)

Nevermind! I can use the Analytics screen and change the time range to the past 12 months or so and the Orders section gives me what I want.

With Cube Reports you can build your own reports (cubes), by combining as many dimensions and metrics as you want, and visualize them through Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts just like you do in excel but without having to download sales orders and setting up excel.
CubeReports runs really fast and it is already in the admin providing all the data you need up to the last detail.
