How can I track my daily variant limit usage on Shopify?

After a shop has 50k variants it gets capped at adding 1000 variants per day.

Is there a way to check how much of the limit is remaining for the day out of 1000?

Or anything useful regarding this matter will be appreciated.

Hi, @Marslan !

Currently there is no way to view how many variants are remaining for the day before hitting the maximum. That said, I can definitely see how that would be useful so I’ve passed that request on to our Product team so that they know it’s something you’d like to see added to the platform.

Another option is to apply for an exemption to this limitation. This isn’t guaranteed, however you can apply to have this limit removed and based on a variety of factors our team will decide if you can have that taken off of your store. If you’d like to try that, let me know and I’d be happy to get the process started for you. Thanks!

Thank you, yes would definitely like to apply for exemption. Didn’t know we could do that before.

Hi, @Marslan !

No worries! I’ve just sent you an email with the details required for that request, so if you’d like to reply there then we can get started. Thanks!

Hi @Brie

we are currently duplicating a whole store to manage different regions in a better way. We just hit the 50k limit in the new store and would like to ask for an exception as well. Can you please provide us with the details?

Kind regards,
Markus

Hi, @Markus_U !

No problem at all. I will send you an email shortly to gather some more information from you, and we can go from there. Thanks!

HI,

I did not know that I can apply to remove the Limit. could you please let me know how to apply ?

thanks

Hey, @zohawi !

I’d be happy to give you a hand with that. Please note that the limit is only lifted in certain instances when specific requirements are met, so this is not guaranteed. I’ll send you an email to gather some more information, and we can go from there. Thanks!

Hi, @nguyenhongson !

Please contact our support team, and they can go over some questions with you to see if you’re eligible to apply for an exemption.

Hi @Brie ! Could I apply for an exemption as well please?

Could you send me an email with the exemption also please?

I am building my shop from scratch as well and it is very difficult to do when I can only add 1 vendor a day. Could I please have the info as well?

We also need increase our limits!

Hello.

I requested the exception and it is impossible to achieve for a development store.

Shopify asks me to sell at least 5% of my entire catalog when I don’t have even 2% of my catalog uploaded.

This store is totally incomplete and they pretend that I will open it to the public and get thousands of sales to eliminate the upload limit.

It doesn’t make any sense and it sounds like an excuse that they know I can’t achieve. Shopify is only interested in me paying $24,000 or more for a full year of Shopify Plus (it has year-long term commitments on top of it) which is impossible for me and doesn’t make any sense.

It is very sad that Shopify launches investment and support plans for small businesses but then does not help in the most basic.

I am not a dropshipping store, it seems that they are only interested in this type of stores that do not add any value, it is a pity.

I spent $300 on the theme and hours of development for nothing, all because they sell a platform of unlimited but time-limited products and they don’t mention it in the plan features, you have to look for detailed information to find it, it doesn’t seem like anything to me ethical, it’s a pity.

Hi Brie, We are trying to setup our online store on shopify and have hit the same limit, so we would like to apply for the exemption. Can you help us with that ?

It doesn’t look like they’re going to respond publicly, so I do. If you request the exceptional, it is not enough that your site is not a dropshipping site as they said, now they also ask that you have sold at least 5% of all your products or variants. They want you to sell thousands of products from a store with an incomplete catalog. It is completely absurd. They refuse to remove this limit and say that even if I sell 5% they can ask me for new requirements. They will surely ask for another unattainable resource so as not to give you the exception. They do not support small entrepreneurs even if they want to sell that image. I would like them to stop misleading advertising and clearly point out this limit in the features of the plans, not that it is hidden. I already spent hundreds of dollars on theme and web development when I found out about it and they won’t reimburse me. I feel cheated, frustrated and trapped.

Hi Marslan,

id like to apply for an extension to get the variant limit removed. Can you email me the form luxurymrkt@gmail.com
