How can we improve the search functionality on our Shopify store?

Hi team,

I have 4 requests please, which I feel would benefit all Shopify Store owners. This relates to the changes in the Search Functionality. It went from being a very useful tool to now a time consuming process. While it might suit smaller stores with a handful of pages, its quite hindering for those stores that have many pages of products in their inventory.

  1. Please put the search bar back on the main Product Page. Having to scroll across to the right to find the search icon then having to scroll back to the left again to type in the search criteria adds on extra steps which really aren’t necessary. Just leave the search bar on the main page which is where it used to be. Was so handy.

  2. Now when you try to type in a search criteria, you have this teeny 1-1.5cms box to try and type everything in which is blocked by this “In All” box. Just doesnt work for quick searching. I can see where the “In All” box might be useful, but put that over on the right and create a wider search bar. Again adds on time to a busy store owner.

3 i) From the main Product Page, you used to see down the bottom Page 1/134 and an arrow button to get to next page Page 2/134 etc. It would be great to be able to have a “Go to Page ___” feature, and if it could appear at the top and bottom of the page, would be excellent. Saves you having to scroll down to the bottom of the page each time to get to the next page. When I come back the next day I see Page 1 again, and have to keep pressing the arrow until I finally reach the page I was on last time. I have over 100 pages so you can appreciate that this takes well over an hour just to get to the Page I want to work on.

3 ii) Similarly, when I search for a particular product, and all the selections appear, you used to be able to see down the bottom of the page the number of pages for results, e.g. 1/12. Now, there is nothing, just an arrow. I have no idea of how many pages there are. Once I have done my bulk editing, I then have to scroll through all the pages again to find the next page I’m up to. Would be so handy to select a “Go to Page ___” feature.

  1. Lastly, would it please be possible to have column made available in “bulk edit”. I’d like to be able to see how much inventory stock I have for each product as well.
