I just built a store an didn’t post it anywhere, but a lot of people are contacting me from the contact page about improving it. My question is how did they find it? and how did they know it even existed yet?

These contact form submissions might be coming from auto-submission bots. I’m not able to identify how they found your store or contact form, but I can provide some suggestions on how to minimize these spam emails.
There are third-party apps that help to mitigate bot-generated form submissions. Here are a couple I recommend checking out:
You can also forward any suspicious emails along with the email headers to safety@shopify.com. We are frequently reviewing spam/bot emails and looking out for new trends to help reduce these types of messages.
