Im stuck i have a store but was started with a different and during the setup my computer died and i cant retrieve anything. So when i try to enter my store i have the email address the password but then it asks for a authorization number which i hadn’t set up yet or a recovery code which was stored on the computer that i can access. So is there a way i can enter my store without having these two items?
Topic summary
A user is locked out of their Shopify store after their computer died during initial setup. They have their email and password but cannot access the account because:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) wasn’t fully configured
- Authorization code was never set up
- Recovery codes were stored on the now-inaccessible computer
Recommended solution:
Contact Shopify Support directly through their help center (https://help.shopify.com/en). Community forum members cannot resolve account access issues.
Steps to get help:
- Open the chat feature on the help page
- Request a “support advisor” or “human” immediately to bypass automated responses
- Support can reset the password and 2FA settings
- After reset, set up new authenticator codes and backup recovery numbers
The issue remains unresolved pending direct contact with Shopify Support.
