How do I find my merchant identification number for sales tax registration?

I am trying to register for sales tax and I need my Merchant identification number. Can someone help me with this?

The Shopify Merchant ID for your shop is not something that will be found in the admin. You will have to get help from Shopify support.

They will need some authentication from your side and will provide you with a Merchant ID.
