We are trying to find out all of our product weights but the product CSV file is completely missing the weight category. I would hope we don’t have to manually enter all of the product weights one by one?
Hi @Sam_Sahni ,
Thanks for reaching out!
The CSV template should have a Variant Grams column by default. You can check all the columns included in the CSV right in this document. Otherwise, you can download a sample template and add your products there.
Depending on your business model, products may or may not have weight already added. Do you add all your products manually or import them through an app?
Let me know more about the issue, and I’ll be happy to help.
Hey Iris,
I have the same issue as the person above. When I export my CSV file (to upload to my courier’s website) there is no Varient Grams column. I have ensured that my products have been given weight values, yet there is definitely still no column titled ‘Varient Grams.’
Because of this, we have to manually add this column and then manually enter the weights for each order before we upload to our courier’s website… This is obviously very time consuming and given that we have listed the weights for our products, it is frustrating that this ‘Varient Grams’ column isn’t showing up as it would save a lot of time and effort.
Would you please be able to investigate futher how to solve this?
Perhaps I have to select some option or change some setting before the Varient Grams column will be included in my exported CSV?
Thanks
Hi @TheKernel ,
Thanks for reaching out.
I just checked CSV Product Template and can confirm that one of the columns named Variant Weight Unit should be available there. Each product should have an assigned weight. You would have added the weight to each of your products when you were creating each product from your Shopify Admin.
To clarify, the original post was referring to the Products CSV export. However, it sounds like you need to export Orders CSV with the total order weight category/column, is that correct?
While we don’t currently have a built-in option in the Shopify Admin that would allow you to export order weights, an app called Better Reports might work for you. Better Reports allows you to build custom reports that can be exported via the CSV method.
There are a couple of other apps that I had in mind that may work, but you’ll want to do your research to see if order weights can be included in the order export. The apps; Ordersify: Order Exporters and Export OrderPro are both apps that allow you to export orders with custom fields - although the app page doesn’t mention order weights, you could use the ‘Support’ section of the app page to reach out to the app developer and inquire about that feature.
I understand that this feature is important for your business workflow, so I’ll be sure to pass this feedback on to our internal team for you!
Hello Iris, the Variant Weight Unit column only shows the unit of weight – as in pounds, grams, whatever – it doesn’t actually show the assigned product or variant weight – as in 1, 2, 3 – and as far as I can tell there is no weight column in the product export CSV.
