How do I link collections to my store's home page?

Hi!

I have been working on editing my store for a few days now and I am hitting a roadblock as I try to link my collections to the home page “featured collections”. I am working with the “simple” theme and while I have added all of my products, created the different collections and linked it to both the home page and the catalog but nothing is showing up when I preview the store. I am at a loss here, not sure why this is happening. I appreciate any support/ suggestions.

Thank you! I think I figured it out. The items were not popping up because they were still in draft in the product tab.
