So I am sure I turned Test On Mode On by mistake. I only turned it off after someone advised I should turn it off . However I was further advised that I must have lost a number of payouts from Shopify during this time when the Test Mode was on. What can I do to try to recover these payouts..I have checked and sure enough no payment came through? Is it even possible anyway to recover these payouts? If not, it is so catastrophic because that is when I had the most sales…

There are three different ways to place “test orders” on Shopify, and the next steps here would depend on which method you have used. The options are:
- You placed these orders using Shopify’s bogus gateway
- You used the Shopify Payments test mode
- You used a real payment provider, and then immediately canceled and refunded the order
If you used option 1, the bogus gateway, then please do rest assured that no real payments have been made and so there are no payments to collect. If you used option 2 - then again, no real payments have been made and so there is no actual payments to collect here. You can read more on this option right here.
Option number three is the only way any real money may have been exchanged - where you enabled checkout using a real payment provider. If this is the case, then as long as you have not canceled/refunded the orders you should have the payouts pending.
