How do I resolve issues connecting my new domain?

Hello I’m facing a trouble while connecting my new domain. I’ve just bought a new domain and I’m getting the following message on my store when I try to connect it:

These domains couldn’t be connected because the stores are frozen. Contact support for further assistance.

Hey @mesticoplug .

Thanks for reaching out.

Just to gather some additional context, are you able to successfully login to your online store as the admin? I am just trying to get a better understanding of the situation so I can assist you accordingly.

Looking forward to your response.

hey this is happening to me too, but i can’t login to my frozen store. how i can connect my domain to my new store while it’s still connected to my frozen store? i’ve been reseting all the DNS setting on the provider but the problem is still and it’s been two weeks

Hey @Lovers .

Thanks for reaching out.

In order for us to assist further with the domain that is attached to a frozen store - we will need to verify you as the store owner. Since we cannot authenticate over the Community forums due to the sensitive information that needs to be shared, I am unable to view the specifics. In this case, it would be best to reach out to our live support about the domain in question.

You can get in touch with a Support Advisor by navigating to the Help Center.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Morning Ollie,

I am having a similar issue. We disconnected our domain to refresh some settings and could not immediately reconnect as it was “This domain couldn’t be connected because the store is frozen.” Well, this is not the case, the store is active with no balance to settle. We do not know to which store our domain has been applied to, to disconnect it. I have supplied customer care with screenshots of the correct DNS set up as proof of ownership.

It has been 2 days and support has been yet to email me for the verification steps. We are receiving 100s of customer emails due to the store domain not pointing to shopify and risk job losses.

We need Shopify to reply to my ticket 48795603 and actually do something about this as currently you have fallen very below the standards expected and I do not wish to seek legal action but have be left with no option to involve legals and UK Trading Standards.

Regards
Dr Peter

Same, issue ongoing for 5 days. How did you resolve?

Hey there- you have no choice but to wait for a dev to remove the wrongly allocated domain from the inactive site and only then can you reconnect it to yours/the correct one. I found their error/explanation strange as when I had the issue I owned all the domains since inception. A suggestion to speed things up would be to take a screen shot/ copy the to you domain ownership and company registration info so they know this request is legitimate.

Anyhow, it’s a painful 5 day wait while they work through their tasks. I understand the delays are mostly due to shopify reducing the number of staff. Try your best to focus on other important jobs while this gets fixed. Good luck

Yes, I have provided all the screenshots with the domain settings etc… I always owned the domain aswel  Thanks for reply!
