How do I subscribe customers when they create an account?

Hi folks, I sell services from my site (www.storytellerresume.com) and need customers to subscribe at checkout so they can receive work-flowed emails once their order is complete.

I have set up Mailchimp to send an email once a Shopify order is confirmed, thus commencing the workflow. In order to send the email, Mailchimp requires that the customer must be subscribed in Shopify.

I have set up my Shopify site so that customers are required to create an account at checkout. During testing customers were being subscribed at account creation. Now that the site is live they aren’t! Perplexing. And so the upshot is that my Mailchimp workflow is therefore not working.

So. How do I subscribe customers when they create an account? Thanks for your wise suggestions.

Congrats on this store, I love your business model!

If you go to SETTINGS > CHECKOUT… make sure this option is checked:

Also, If possible, I would recommend other email service probiders (Klaviyo, Privy).
