Hey I’m new to shopify, haven’t started my store yet.
I want to clear somethings off my head about payment.
My business is UK based as well as my bank account.
First of all if a customer buys something from my store when will I get paid ?
and after that first payment process that I didn’t get it yet, do I receive payment from a purchase off my store the same day that purchase happened ? does shopify pay me the day that customer bought it ? or there is a processing period that I need to be familiar with ?
I’m asking these questions because a lot of us enter this business world with a low budget. let’s say I have 200$ to start with I pay 100$ to ads for example and 60$ for actual product coast , not to mention the other here and there expenses, so if shopify doesn’t pay me sooner my business would be cut off for 3 or more days until I get my money back.
So would any expert on this community clear those things out that would be helpful for me and thousands of low budget starters on this platform.

When you set up a payment provider on your store to accept payments from your customers, there will be a processing time dependent on that provider. There is usually a delay from the point when the customer pays to when the funds actually reach your account. Each payment provider service will have different processing times, so it’s always a good idea to get clarification with them how often you will be paid.
If you opt to use Shopify Payments (which is available in the UK) then you can receive payments via Shopify Payouts. To make things easier for you, you can learn how to set Shopify Payments up here.Your pay period with Shopify Paymentsrefers to the amount of time between the day a customer places an order on your store, and the day the funds from that order are sent to your bank account on file. The length of your pay period depends on the country where your store is based, so as you are based in the United Kingdom, it is 3 business days from when the charge is processed. There may be a further 0-2 business days before you see those funds in their bank account. This is down to bank processing times and is outside of Shopify’s control. As mentioned in my previous reply, the processing time would depend on what payment provider you are using. If you use a third party payment provider like PayPal for example, then you would need to reach out to their support directly to check how long, and often you will get paid into your bank account. There is some more information which can be found here on getting paid with third party payment providers.
If you are using Shopify Payments then the amount of time for the money to appear into your bank account is 3 business days for the United Kingdom as listed here on our help center doc. There should be no delay with it being your first payment with Shopify payment, normal processing times still apply.
