Hi, I want to explore Shopify and check how it works before committing to a plan. When I signed up, it offered a 3-day free trial, but while selecting a plan, it asks me to set up AutoPay of ₹5000.
I just want to test Shopify by making a small payment of ₹20 to see if it’s suitable for my business. Is there any way to do this without enabling AutoPay?
Also, if I set up AutoPay, can I disable or cancel it later before being charged?
Shopify does require you to select a plan after the free trial, but you won’t be charged immediately, the billing starts only after the trial ends.
AutoPay Setup: In India, Shopify may ask for AutoPay authorization, but you can cancel it later in your payment settings.
₹20 Payment Option: Unfortunately, Shopify doesn’t have a ₹20 trial option, but you can choose the cheapest plan (₹1 for the first month) to explore the platform with minimal risk.
Cancel before charge: If you enable AutoPay, you can cancel your subscription anytime before the billing date to avoid charges.
To prevent accidental charges, set a reminder to cancel before your trial ends if you decide not to continue
Another option is to contact any Shopify partner – they should be able to create a development store for you where you will be able to better learn Shopify further. This should not cost anything.
