I cant close my paused store because I’m not on a billing plan.
It seems like in order to removed a paused store one has to buy the $29 subscription plan and then beg for a refund. There are 2 problems:
Shopify doesn’t issue refunds.
Its already hard to find someone to talk with when a store is paused. It doesn’t seem like it will be easier to contact someone when the store is fully closed.
So the only option is to buy the bullet and pay in order to close the store? This doesn’t seem right and borderline legal.
While our Terms of Service does state that we do not provide refunds, we can review refund requests on a case by case basis so long as the store is fully closed. If your store is on the Full Pause plan where your access is restricted, then our Support is able to helo close your store on your behalf without requiring you to pay for the subscription. Should you choose to reactivate your store, pay the subscription, then close your store, then we would be able to provide a refund.
In order to speak with our Support, you will need to log in through our Help Centre here, search your question/issue, then select “contact support” at the bottom of the page that displays the search results.
