If I want To set up a business on Shopify where customers can send you recipes and pay you based on how the dish looks and tastes,do I need to make a file or form where customers can submit their recipe requests. Include fields for the recipe name, ingredients, instructions, and any other relevant details, and I could also ask for a photo of the finished dish.
Hey @cbrown218 ,
this sounds like a really fun use-case for a Shopify store! We have an app that could handle this, it’s called Helium Customer Fields. The main purpose of our app is to allow merchants (like yourself) to capture extra data on the registration page of your store.
While using our app, you could set up fields that you require customers to enter for recipes, we support file uploads for PDFs or images.
If you need help, our support team would be happy to help set up a form for you.
I hope this is helpful.
Hi @cbrown218 ,
Neat idea! As @josiah_helium has recommended, you can use their customer fields app to capture information from the customer when they check out. There are other third-party apps you could consider as well that offer similar functionalities. You can also use apps such as Uploadly to allow customers to upload files such as photos when on your store.
I hope this helps but please let me know if you’ve any more questions.
What do you mean by…third-party,and how do I use Uploadly for my customers to download their recipe requests on my website?
Hi @cbrown218 ,
You mentioned in your first post that you wanted customers to be able to send you recipes; I suggested Uploadery as this allows customers to upload files for you to receive. I referred to it as a third-party app as it’s not developed by Shopify directly, although it is available for install on the Shopify App Store.
Can you tell me a bit more about your plan for the website? You’d like customers to be able to send you recipes and download them too?
Yes, you’ll need a form for customers to submit their recipe requests. Use a Shopify app like Form Builder to create fields for recipe name, ingredients, instructions, and a photo upload option. Set up a payment structure based on dish complexity or other factors, integrating Shopify Payments. Once submitted, send customers a confirmation email with next steps.
I should mention that Helium Customer Fields has an upload field type built into the app, so using a second app for uploads wouldn’t be necessary.
