How to Detect Shopify Apps other shopify store using?

Hi there,

I was wondering how to detect shopify apps a website using? What is the best tool? I used to use Fera extension. But it’s not working anymore.

If you know, please let inform me.

Hi @kingcommerce .

There is a Chrome app called Store Leads which works on Google Chrome and gives all the information of the site (including the app the store is using).

It will help you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

You can use ShopScan.app. It’s an updated Shopify App Detector. Provides all the app a store using with app links and the theme name.

To detect the Shopify apps another Shopify store is using, you can follow these steps:

1. Use Shopify App Detectors

There are several free and paid tools online specifically designed to detect apps used by Shopify stores. Examples include:

  • BuiltWith: A web technology profiler that shows which apps and technologies are being used on a website.
  • Wappalyzer: A browser extension that identifies the technologies behind any website, including Shopify apps.
  • Shopify App Detector: A dedicated browser extension that reveals the apps a Shopify store is using.

2. Inspect the Store’s Code

If you prefer a manual method:

  • Right-click on the store’s homepage and select Inspect or press Ctrl+Shift+I (or Cmd+Option+I on Mac).
  • Look for script tags in the HTML source code. Many apps include their names or identifiers in the URL, such as apps.shopify.com followed by the app name.

3. Analyze the Store’s Features

Identify features or functionalities that are commonly associated with popular Shopify apps, like:

  • Pop-ups: Many pop-up apps like Privy or Justuno add exit-intent or discount offers.
  • Product Reviews: Tools like Judge.me or Loox are often used for customer reviews.
  • Live Chat: If the store has a live chat feature, apps like Tidio or Shopify Ping may be in use.

4. Use Online Databases

Some websites offer curated databases of Shopify stores and the apps they use. For example:

  • Commerce Inspector: A tool that tracks stores, sales, and apps in use.

By using a combination of these tools and methods, you can effectively determine the Shopify apps used by other stores.

To detect Shopify apps a website is using, you can try tools like BuiltWith or Wappalyzer, which analyze a website’s tech stack and provide insights into installed apps or integrations. While these tools might not always show every app in use, they often reveal major ones, such as payment gateways or review systems. Another approach is to inspect the website’s source code to look for app-related scripts, though this requires some technical knowledge.

Apps can be detected by tools such as Wappalyzer or BuiltWith that scan websites for scripts and integrations. And of course the browser developer tools will uncover app assets or injected code as well. Not all are visible as I said, but these combined methods often provide data to offer a sense of what apps a store uses on Shopify.
