I’m new to this, but not sure why it seems to be so hard!
I set up my new Shopify store (with all products through Printify) and decided to be my own customer to test things out. I ordered one item and saw that the item was listed as “Unfulfilled” in my Shopify Admin, with two buttons: “Fulfill Item” and “Request Fulfillment”. I’ll set aside the fact that I don’t know what either of these buttons mean for the time being.
I looked at my Printify store and to my amazement the item was already sent to production. A few days later it arrived at my doorstep. Yet Shopify continues to list the item as “Unfulfilled” in the Admin section. I contact Shopify and they have no clue why, so they contact Printify. Printify says to ignore the Shopify buttons and that everything gets sent automatically with nothing needed on my end.
Cool, but does that mean that Shopify is just going to constantly tell me I have “unfulfilled” items? Is there not anyway to edit this?
Hi @BetTheBoost ,
When an order is placed, it has an Unfulfilled fulfillment status, unless you have selected to automatically capture the payment and automatically fulfill all of the order’s line items in the checkout settings.
You can select automatically capture the payment in store admin > Settings > Payments > Payment capture > Automatically capture payment for orders.

And select automatically fulfill all of the orders in Settings > Checkout > Order processing > After an order has been paid > Automatically fulfill the order‘s line items

Okay this is great, thanks. I have a follow up that may or may not be related. I have the “Shop App” and after I placed my order, my Shop App listed the product as “Order Placed”. But the status never changed - does this have to do with not having it “fulfilled” in Shopify? Or is that my own issue that I have to contact Printify about?
Hi @BetTheBoost , I don’t have experience with your app. Please try to change setting of checkout in your Shopify as I mentioned above and then try to place an order to check. If it is not working, please contact Printify
