Why does my customer's paid order automatically show as 'in progress'?

Hi,

It seems that as soon as my customer make their order, the status of the order goes to the blue “in progress” instead of “unfullfilled”. The backside of this seems me not being able to make changes / edit the order if the customer would like to make changes to their order.

So my question is. How do i set the order to automaticly be set to “unfullfilled” instead of “in progress”?

Hi @Mumbi ,

Hyde here, great question!

When it comes to the fulfillment of your orders, you can either set your store to automatically fulfill or manually fulfill your orders, here’s how. Here’s how you can change manual to automatic or vice versa:

And here’s how you fulfill an order. Bear in mind that If you’re dropshipping then order fulfillment is slightly different.

I’ve made a video here on how to fulfill an Oberlo order. If you’re not using Oberlo then you can ignore this:

When you see an order in your admin, you will need to first go to your Oberlo app and order it from the supplier. The video shows you how to do this. Once you fulfill the order, you then need to go back to your Shopify admin and click the ‘fulfilled’ button. This will send a notification to the customer saying that their order is on the way.

I hope this all helps, let me know if you have further questions.

All the best, Hyde.

Thank you for the reply.

But it seems that i still havent figured out why the orders have the status “in progress” instead of “unfullfilled”.
