How to export Files (Content) from Shopify Store?

Topic summary

A user needs to export all files from their Shopify store’s Content section, including design assets used for homepage and other pages—not just product images available through standard product export.

Current limitation:

  • Shopify doesn’t provide a native bulk export option for all content files
  • Files must be accessed via Content > Files in the Shopify admin

Recommended solutions:

  1. Manual download: Download each file individually from the Files section
  2. Third-party apps for bulk export:
    • Matrixify: Install app → New Export → Select “Files” from dropdown → Choose export format → Export
    • Store Export: Alternative bulk export tool
    • Image Flow: Allows bulk export/upload of images with customizable output formats, particularly for products and collections

Status: Multiple viable solutions provided; user has options for both manual and automated approaches depending on file volume and specific needs.

Hi,

When I try export products I can get all the product images.

But, in the files I have files which I have used for designing the website like home page and other pages.

How can I export everything in Files within Content from my Shopify Store?

Thanks

Hi @paulson1

To export all the files within the “Content” section of your Shopify store, including images and files used for website design (like home page assets), you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Contents in your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Files under the Files section: https://prnt.sc/hQA54756-hHP
  3. From here, you can manually download each file, or use an app like Store Export or Matrixify to export all your files in bulk.

Unfortunately, Shopify does not offer a direct way to export all content in one go. You’ll need to use third-party apps or manually download the files.

If you have other questions, I am willing to answer them more.

Best regards,

Daisy

Hi @paulson1 !

Thank you @DaisyVo for the mention!

Matrixify is sure able to do this! A general outline of the process would be:

  1. Install the Matrixify app and then head to the Matrixify Export page by clicking “New Export” in the apps homepage.

  2. On this page you can select the format you would like to Export in that the top of the page and from the “Select Sheets” drop-down select to Export “Files”.

  3. Once selected, you can then press “Export”.

That would be an overview of the process, however, please feel free to reach out to our support if you have any questions at all!

Hi @Ieva
