It sounds like you’re experiencing a common issue that many new online shop owners face. It’s great that you’re getting feedback, but it can be overwhelming to sort through it all, especially when some of it seems like a scam. Here are a few tips to help you navigate this situation:
Verify the Source: Before taking any advice, check the credentials of the person giving it. Look for reviews, testimonials, or any other proof of their expertise.
Focus on Usability and Conversion: Make sure your website is user-friendly and optimized for conversions. This includes having a fast-loading site, easy navigation, and a smooth checkout process. You can find more tips on improving usability and conversion in this Yoast article:Get more sales on Shopify with these 14 tips.
SEO and Content: Ensure your site is optimized for search engines and that you are using the right keywords. Also, make your blog more visible on your site to engage visitors and improve SEO. More details can be found in this Yoast case study: SEO of an online shop.
Use Video Content: Consider adding video content to your product pages to provide an interactive experience. This can help showcase your products better and improve user engagement. More insights on this can be found in this podcast: Kevin Indig on SEO at Shopify and ecommerce.
Consult Trusted Experts: If you decide to hire an expert, make sure they are reputable. Look for recommendations from trusted sources or communities.
It’s important to stay positive and keep improving your shop step by step. Good luck!
As others have mentioned, your store looks great. However, there are a few things that might boost your chances of making more sales.
Social Proof:- Customer Reviews:
Do you have social proof, such as reviews from platforms like Etsy or Amazon? If you do, don’t hesitate to showcase them on your site. Social proof is a powerful tool in building trust with potential customers.
If you don’t have then I recommend checking out “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion” by Robert Cialdini. The book provides insights into principles like scarcity and reciprocity, which you can use instead of social proof to increase your chances of making a sale.
Advanced Search Functionality:- Search Bar Optimization:
Do you use a default search bar? Did you know that 69% of online shoppers head straight to the search bar when visiting eCommerce sites, but 80% leave due to a poor search experience? Implementing an advanced search app that includes features like autosuggest, autocorrect, and filtering can greatly enhance the shopping experience and keep potential customers on your site.
If you’re interested, consider checking out the Searchanise Search & Filter app on the Shopify App Store. It’s designed to improve the search experience and could be a valuable addition to your store.
Understanding where your prospects drop off is crucial. Tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, or Crazy Egg can help you monitor visitor behavior on your site. These tools provide insights into where visitors might be losing interest, allowing you to make the necessary adjustments to improve user experience and increase conversions.
