Hi, I recently had an order where I had to make a partial refund. I’ve now completed the order and shipped it. But there is no way to insert the tracking details and to fulfill the order. Shopify help desk have basically said nothing I can do. It’ll just hang on there for ever as unfulfilled. Is this true? It’s driving crazy to have it there. Also how does payment to the seller work if the order is not fulfilled? Will the funds just get stuck in limbo? Thank you in advance
Hi, there! I tested this by processing a partial refund on an unfulfilled order on my test store. After processing the partial refund, I still see the “Fulfill item” button on the order details page. When I click that button, I am able to add the tracking number and shipping carrier. Even if I proceed to fulfill the item without entering those details, I still get an “Add tracking” button on the order details page afterwards, so it can be added later on if you don’t have the tracking number when you fulfill the item.
Had your order previously been marked as fulfilled, and had tracking information previously been added or a shipping label previously created?
No it was not previously marked as fulfilled. I don’t have the option to
mark it as fulfilled either.
To clarify, the order is marked as ‘Partially refunded’ and ‘Unfulfilled’? Are there any other labels on the order, or did our support team mention specifically why it couldn’t be marked as ‘Fulfilled’?
Just had this issue. When I made the partial refund it automatically removed the item from the order. I edited the order and re-added the item and then was able to fulfil it.
