How to remove shipping/delivery for a takeout restaurant (pick up only)

I run a takeout restaurant and we do not want this delivery/shipping option available at our checkout page. We only want the pickup option available. Is there any way we can remove this delivery/shipping from their screen and make it so their only option is pick-up?

Checkout page is currently managed by Shopify. So you can’t edit it and hardly anyone can guide you on it.

You can only change it with app or contact Shopify. Refer https://help.shopify.com/en/questions#/contact

There is one possible work-around. Each product in your Shopify product listings has a checkbox that says “this is a physical product”. When that box is un-checked, Shopify assumes that because they have no physical properties, that they don’t require shipping. If every product in the cart is set up that way, Shopify bypasses the checkout page and goes directly to the payment page.

If it’s understood that everything in your store is take-out/pick-up, this might resolve the issue you’re having. Meaning – if you’re ok with customers just going straight from the cart to payment.

Not a perfect solution, but it might work. Otherwise, you might want to reach out to Shopify support to see if there is any way to disable the shipping option, or have it default to pickup instead of shipping when the customer moves to the shipping information page. I wasn’t able to find anything for that.

Even if you use an app, like Intuitive Shipping, to offer only a pickup option, it’s still going to default to the shipping information page and ask the customer to fill in their address before a pickup option can be displayed.

Not sure if you found the solution for this yourself. I have a restaurant set up in Shopify and we only offer local pick up as an option. I deleted the shipping rates for my shop and only have local pick up selected. When the customer goes to check out, they only see Local Pick as the method for delivery, and does not need to put this their shipping address etc. The only thing they need to complete is the payment option with billing address.
