How to set up UK direct debit subscriptions?

Hi all,

I’m trying to set up a subscription service for my shop and specifically need a direct debit (UK) payment method. Feel like I’ve tried everything and looked everywhere but can’t see any other shops which accept this type of payment.

I’ve got three questions:

- Is there an easy way to do this?

- Does anybody have/know anybody with a shop that accepts subscription payments via direct debit like this? Just so I can see the mechanism.

- Is there a way to set up custom fields via a manual payment method in Shopify? For example, so i can take Name, Sort Code, Account number and plug it into my CRM via payment platform integration?

Hi George,

Bacs Direct Debit does support subscription payments via Stripe, but it’s not available in Shopify’s own checkout. The way to do it is with a third-party solution: Easy⋮⋮Pie Checkout for Shopify. It integrates Stripe’s Bacs Direct Debit (UK) and works with subscriptions, so you don’t need to collect bank details manually or build custom fields.

This gives you a proper subscription mechanism and keeps everything secure and PCI compliant, rather than trying to handle sensitive data yourself.
