How to show Amazon pay, Google pay & Meta pay in the payments section on the checkout page

Topic summary

A user wants to display Amazon Pay, Google Pay, and Meta Pay in the main payments section of the checkout page, similar to how PayPal appears. Currently, these options only show as express payment buttons.

Current Limitation:

  • Express payment methods cannot be moved to the standard payment section shown in the user’s screenshot
  • This is a platform restriction, not a configuration option

Shopify’s Response:

  • Official support confirmed this customization is not currently possible
  • Feedback about this limitation has been shared internally with the appropriate teams
  • No timeline provided for potential changes

Alternative Mentioned:

  • One community member suggested using Stripe integration for accepting Amazon Pay and Google Pay, with a YouTube tutorial referenced

The discussion remains unresolved as the desired functionality is not available within Shopify’s current checkout system.

Hi there, @emble . Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums with your question around the payment method section here on the checkout, and editing what appears there! My name is Imogen. It’s good to meet you!

At this time, it’s not possible to edit the checkout to show your express payment methods to the area highlighted in your screenshot. We’ve received feedback around this topic in the past, along with the fact that folks want to show these payment methods again to users after the enter in their shipping information. I’m happy to go ahead and pass along some feedback internally around this topic on your behalf. I can’t advise specifically what may result from sharing this feedback, but you can trust it’s been shared with the appropriate folks internally!
