Let me begin by stating that BOTH “Shop Promise” and “Manual Delivery Dates” are both turned off (have NEVER been turned on) and yet many of my customers (but not all) are still getting the “Expected delivery date” on the orders. These dates are completely INCORRECT and since the option for them is turned off, we have no idea what they are even basing the estimate on. Naturally, our customers being given incorrect information is a big problem.
Topic summary
Multiple Shopify merchants are experiencing an issue where incorrect “Expected delivery date” messages appear on customer orders, despite having both “Shop Promise” and “Manual Delivery Dates” features disabled.
Key Problems:
- Delivery estimates are completely inaccurate (e.g., showing Sunday delivery for Saturday orders)
- Affects various themes: Pipeline, Minimal, and Venture
- Only impacts some customers, not all
- Started appearing within the past few days to week
- CSS attempts to hide the dates are being overridden
Current Status:
- One participant reports Shopify has acknowledged this as an error on their end
- No official announcement link or timeline for fix has been shared
- Recommendation made to contact Shopify support directly, especially for official theme users
- Issue remains unresolved with merchants seeking solutions
What is your stores URL?
Is this theme based off any Shopify free theme?
We are having the exact same problem. It just started within the last few days.
We use pipeline. I can also note that we do not have any apps installed that would add a delivery date such as SFN of the shop app.
Same Pipeline theme as the base?
We use Minimal with Installments message
Pipeline 7.1.2
Since that is an Official Shopify Theme store theme, I would reach out to support. They should be prompt and responsive.
I’m not seeing minimal in the Shopify theme store, is it third party?
No It is a free theme from Shopify
I’m not seeing in theme store, it’s possible that it is outdated. Any updates available?
Same issue to. I’m on Venture theme.
I tried to add CSS to hide it and that wouldn’t work as well. It looks like some Shop Promise css is overriding my CSS that is attempting to fix the output.
People are expecting things before they are even shipped now.
Same problem here! Suddenly started appearing on some, but not all orders in the past week. Now customers are getting upset thinking that they will get their orders next day.
I don’t know where the metric is coming from to calculate the turn around time. I even have customers ordering on Saturday and the checkout is telling them the product will be delivered on SUNDAY!!!
Shopify acknowledged this is an error on their part.
I’m sure when they were busy making their Summer edition that they broke it.
Do you have a link to an announcement? I’d like to read the details if any.
having the same problem over here, any solutions as of yet? both are also turned off and have never been on. help.
