UPDATE: I have figured it out…the correct way is to select the 3 dots to the right of where it says “Fulfilled” and then select “Cancel fulfillment.”

The steps provided in both of the links that were given by @Nick_Marketing are no longer an option within Shopify. Is there a “new” way to do this? Thank you for any advice you might have!

This solution no longer works. Is there another way to unfulfill an item so that I can print the shipping labels?

I just now asked the Shopify chatbot about this, and it replied with this:

“To add a fulfillment to an already fulfilled order, you’d need to create a new order for the additional items.”

I find this extremely frustrating. I expect a response more professional than, “Oh, you need to amend, or update, or change an order? No problem! Just create a new unrelated order.” It’s not a good solution; I don’t want the activity for one order split into to two or more order records. I realize I can “post” a comment about what’s happening, and I can cross-post the comments in the two orders, with each corresponding order record, but I shouldn’t have to. Shopify has removed functionality.

The only work around I could find after messing with it for an hour was to fulfill the order, then immediately go and unfulfill it. You should be able to print a label then. At least that’s what worked for me.
