I refunded an order but also have the Shopify card set up, which im not sure how to un-set up, it sort of just opted me in automatically, anyway, where will this money come from? I read somewhere that Shopify will essentially “front” the cost then it comes out of my payouts, but I dont receive payouts since all the money I generate from sales goes to the new Shopify card. So where can I expect those funds to deduct from? Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your questions here in our Community Forums for help! I’d be happy to answer those questions about your Shopify Balance card and payouts.
Shopify Balance is an option that is available to eligible merchants (it can be disabled if you prefer not to use it though: Managing your Shopify Balance card) and it essentially holds your funds in a virtual account for you. You can set this as your primary payment method for your account and your billing fees, etc, will be pulled from your balance account first.
In regards to refunds, the refunds will act similar to how a billing charge will act, the refund will be deducted from the balance account first and if there are any issues with that then it will instead deduct the refund from your connected bank account.
