I totally get where you’re coming from—I’ve gone through similar situations myself when setting up payment options in Shopify. It can definitely feel like you’re going in circles when things don’t seem to work as expected. Let’s break this down and figure out what’s going on.
Your Situation
You’re setting up a dropshipping business from Panama ¶, and you have dLocal Payments and PayPal active. Now, Shopify is asking you to enable Shopify Payments, but you can’t seem to find a way to activate it, and you’re unsure if it’s a country restriction or if you need to contact dLocal Payments for support.
Why Shopify Payments Isn’t Available for You
Shopify Payments is not supported in Panama. This is why you don’t see the option to activate it. Shopify Payments is only available in certain countries, and unfortunately, Panama is not on that list. You can check the supported countries here: Shopify Payments supported countries.
What You Can Do Instead
Since Shopify Payments isn’t an option for Panama, you’ll need to rely on third-party payment providers like:
PayPal (which you’ve already activated)
dLocal Payments (which allows local and international transactions)
Other payment gateways supported in Panama. You can check Shopify’s list of available payment providers for Panama here: Shopify Panama Payment Providers.
Next Steps1. Keep using PayPal & dLocal Payments – Since these are already active, they will work for your store.
Confirm dLocal Payments is working properly – If you’re still waiting for a response from dLocal’s support team, check your dashboard to see if the account is fully verified. Sometimes, additional verification steps are required.
Explore other payment gateways – If dLocal is causing delays, you might want to check if there are alternative providers that work better for you.
If you’re getting an error message related to Shopify Payments, you can ignore it because it’s just Shopify’s default recommendation, but it won’t apply to your store in Panama.
Let me know if you need help with anything else, and I’ll do my best to assist you!
