I need to "clone" my current Shopify site to a new theme

I have a current site that is built in Shopify using an old theme.

I’d like to create a NEW version of it using a new theme.

Looking to find out the best way to do this where I can move EVERYTHING to this new theme as simply as possible.

My ultimate goal is to improve “page speed” and “performance numbers”

Need to be able to work in a “sandbox” initially as we do the transition.

I also realize that the NEW theme will likely look different “out of the box” … so I’ll need a designer/developer on my team to help with this new layout (ie. resizing / positioning photos, etc)

Anyone know of any tutorials/ resources I can review to start this?

Hi

You don’t need to clone your site but rather upload a new theme you have had developed or purchased and then customize it to your needs. You preview it using your existing store data and when you are happy you just publish to replace your existing theme.

Note you can always go back to your old theme if your new one has issues. You can even duplicate your exiting one and make changes to it rather than starting from a new one.
