Is there any information about Google “disliking” images made with AI or anything like that?
Still on the topic, for home and decor products, do you recommend images with a white background or an ambient background?

There is no evidence that Google dislikes AI, in fact Google has an AI image tool called product studio. So it would be rather counterintuitive if Google disliked AI images while offering AI image tools in Google Merchant Center.
I actually test and change images, for example some with white background some with an AI background. Sometimes they do better, especially if all the competitors, are plain and boring. Then having an image that is better looking, stands out.
Test and compare would be my recommendation.
