Increasing Discounts as Customers Accrue Completed Recharge Subscription Orders?

Hi everyone,

I’m struggling to find a solution for a client that works with Recharge, which is what we use for subscriptions.

To decrease churn, we are looking to offer 10% off first order, which will increase to 15% at 3rd successful charge, 20% at 5+ successful charges.

We have a number of people who subscribe, receive a few orders, cancel, then resubscribe a few months later. We want to try encourage people to stay subscribed to maintain their discount level, and then just use our ARPU integrated delay order functionality when they don’t want product that month, rather than cancelling their subscriptions.

Anyway, I’ve spoken to Recharge who don’t offer this natively. They recommended to check with a number of their integration partners who all seem to offer discount programs for Recharge subscribers but nothing that actually adjusts the base Recharge subscription tiered discount.

I wondered if anyone had successfully done what we are trying to do, and if you had any tips about how you achieved it? Or if there’s an (affordable) app out there that can help?

Appreciate any help!

Thanks

Hi! I was curious if you actually found a solution to this?

552 views and Recharge hasn’t provided a sensible solution.

Thanks @LaniK for sharing in what I also feel is the best way to combat subscription churn rate.

Offering customers a subscriptions model is great for all the reasons Recharge claims but it is a failure if you can’t implement actual solutions to decrease churn rate. Why is it lacking the necessary parts required to incentivize consumers that makes it successful?

Could it be that greedy companies are purposely leaving out simple solutions forcing you to pay for other apps? I predict that some of these companies will experience their own churn rate issues as up and comers have the vision to see value in offering these basic solution that we are asking for.

I welcome other subscription model providers to share. Your customers need to have built in solutions without having to manage additional apps, which is cost prohibitive and time consuming.

  • Allow us to simply set up tiered discounts for any product set up for subscriptions, without the need to create bundles.
  • Allow us to simply offer free shipping for any product if it’s purchase on a subscription.
  • Allow us to simply offer progressive discounts based on customer loyalty (quantity of subscription orders) as LaniK proposes in their original post.

Additionally, I welcome other Shopify store owners, programmers, and developers, who are also frustrated by the lack of solutions caused by greed or lack of vision, to join in and share ideas. There is a huge opportunity to provide solutions that many need and would be happy to pay for.
