Individual Product Pages

Topic summary

A user is experiencing two main issues with their product pages:

Problem 1: Non-individualized accordions

  • Accordion content added to product pages automatically syncs across all three products
  • Editing one accordion immediately copies changes to the others
  • User needs each product page to have unique accordion content

Problem 2: Product display order

  • Unable to change the order products appear in the dropdown menu
  • Products are linked to collections, which cannot be edited

Proposed Solutions:

Option 1: Create separate product page templates for each product, allowing different layouts and content assignments (video tutorial provided)

Option 2: Use product metafields to add product-specific information like sizes, ingredients, or care guides that can be referenced in templates (video tutorial provided)

The collection ordering issue remains unaddressed in the responses.

I have 3 products / product pages created but the accordian that I added to them cannot be individualized – when I edit one, it immediately copies the same to the other. HOw can I edit each product page individual?

Also, how do I change the order in which my products are displayed on the drop down “product” page I created? It’s linked to my collections and I am unable to edit the collections? I need help!

Hey! Sounds like you’re asking how to surface different content per product page?

Two ways you could do this:

Option 1: Create different product page template and assign them to your products. This allows you to design different layouts for your product page and assign these to different products. Here’s a video tutorial.

Option 2: Create product metafields and reference them on your product template. Metafields let you create new fields on your products to surface product-specific information (i.e. sizes, ingredients, instructions, care guides, etc). Here’s a video tutorial.

Hope this helps!
