Installed Amazon Buy With Prime button and having Inventory Issues for Out of Stock items

Hi all,

I installed the Amazon “Buy with prime” button on our store, Truffletopia.com, and I am having issues with the checkout experience.

  1. Amazon Buy With Prime App sends FBA inventory data to your Shopify store, so Out-of-Stock items at your warehouse will appear to be In-Stock on your website. Customers are allowed to add items to their cart and start the checkout process, by entering billing and shipping information.

  2. If they do not select the “Buy with Prime” button on the product page or the “Amazon Pay” button on the checkout page, they will receive an error saying the product is out-of-stock. The out-of-stock items will be removed from their cart and they are given the option to “Continue Checkout” for in-stock items or “Return to cart.”

See below images:

Until Shopify and/or Amazon Buy With Prime create a fix for this. I am looking for a solution.

  1. Best Case: Edit the store’s coding, for products with 0 inventory in my warehouse, to not allow any form of payment/purchase other than Amazon Buy with Prime on the product page, so that way they cannot “Add to cart” and checkout normally.
  2. Alternative: Add messaging to the Out of Stock pop-up window, that says currently this product is only available via Buy with Prime, and add the Buy with Prime button.
  3. Worst Case: Add messaging to the Out of Stock pop-up window, letting them know that currently the product is only available with Buy with Prime, without adding the Prime button.

If anyone can assist me with finding/adding the proper coding that would be amazing. I’ve tried to locate that pop-up window within the code on the back end, but I was unable to locate. I know my option 1 is probably a little more advanced given the rules that would need to be added.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you,

Tony
