Inventory page Sorting function

Can I filter out products that are not active on the Inventory page? I don’t need to know the inventory of non-active products. This should be a basic filtering function.

Hey @crystalgrice ,
Yes you can do it in Shopify to filter out the products.

Follow these steps to implement this.

  1. Go to Shopify Dashboard.
  2. Click on Products.
  3. At the top Right of the Products you will see Products FIlter include search Icon. Just click on it. You can press “f” from the compute keyboad.
  4. Product filter will open and Just click on “Status” and Drop down will open.
  5. Now click on “Active” and this will show all products that are active.

Here is attached Image.

Thanks for the reply! I knew about the “Active” filter there on the product page like the example you gave, but I want to do this from the “Inventory” page. I like the Inventory page so that I can look for items that are low in stock but it gets to be a lot when all of the inactive products also show in the list.

I attached an example as well.

Hi @crystalgrice

Yes, you can filter out inactive products on your Shopify Inventory page, but it takes a bit of manual adjustment since Shopify doesn’t currently offer a direct filter for “inactive products” in the Inventory section. Here’s what you can do instead:

  1. Use Product Status Filtering: Go to your Products page (not the Inventory page). Here, you’ll find a filter for Status—you can choose to show only Active products. While this doesn’t directly adjust the Inventory view, it lets you see only the products currently available for sale.
  2. Export and Work with Data: If you’re managing a large inventory and want to exclude inactive products for inventory management purposes, export your inventory data. You can do this from the Inventory page by clicking Export. Afterward, you can filter out inactive products in a spreadsheet program like Excel or Google Sheets.
  3. Consider a Third-Party App: If this is a frequent need, you might want to look into Shopify apps that enhance inventory management. Apps like Stocky or TradeGecko provide more advanced filtering and reporting capabilities.

Honestly, I get how this feels like a basic feature Shopify could have included—it would save time and make things more efficient. Hopefully, Shopify updates this functionality in the future!
