We have one location from where we fulfil our online orders and then we have few locations for local pick ups.
The problem is, that if someone orders few products and 1 of them is unavailable online, the system automatically takes the inventory from one of the physical locations which creates a wide range of other problems for us.
I’ve tried unticking the “fulfil online orders from this location” boxes from each of the pick up locations,
I just can’t come into understanding how that would solve the problem.
But anyway, let’s say it did.
Problem like that shouldn’t need a workaround like this. The system shouldn’t automatically take the inventory from the pickup locations, if the order isn’t being picked up but is sent instead. Also, the system shouldn’t sell items that are out of stock, when they are unchecked “continue selling when out of stock”. It’s a glitch that needs a fix.
Lastly, replicating all the products wouldn’t be very sustainable. It would cost management time and our accounting would be pretty much destroyed.
Thank you for your reply, I hope my message now won’t be the last.
Hey @generatorius this seems like a bug within Shopify, although there are other solutions. With retail stores and a central online location, it’s possible you might benefit from a proper inventory system. You can try SKUSavvy which will pull in your locations, products, inventory, orders, and customers from Shopify so that you can hold inventory across each of your locations, and have orders routed to their appropriate destination based on available inventory.
