Is blogging on Shopify a good idea?

Hi,

Is it recommended to make a blog site on Shopify because as per my knowledge, shopify is specialized for e-commerce?

If you are specifically looking for a platform to build a blog site, I recommend WordPress. WordPress has many features that will help you build a brochure-style, marketing, and heavy, blog-driven content site.

Shopify is ideal for building a product/service-based website rather than a content-centric one. Moreover, if you still want to go for Shopify or have an emulsion of eCommerce and blog section (basically not just for content marketing), you can absolutely go for Shopify.

Shopify has a built-in blogging engine. Blogging is a great way to draw potential customers.

Starting a blog is an awesome way to build your audience by putting out great content and Shopify will allow you to do just that. With your audience, is it also important to look for ways to monetize your traffic which allows you to earn money as a blogger down the road. With Shopify, you have access to integrate products or services directly within your blog, you’ll be able to collect payments, manage inventory and will be able to market your brand across multiple platforms. For instance, you can set up your shop with Instagram, sync over your products, and customers will be able to check out directly from your Instagram page. There are many ways to start and you’ll need to be strategic about how you set your blog up for success.

I think that a much better solution will be to use, for example, Wordpress
