Hi Kimi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I was planning to use my GoDaddy website as the primary focus of the business, with other things (like a Shopify store) as an ancillary site, unless there are distinct advantages (i.e. ease of use, a way to connect a single message across all social media platforms, marketing & more sales channels, etc) than GoDaddy has. Otherwise, I can see that I will be “doubling up” on the services provided and expenses.
Currently, my business is up and running on GoDaddy and I’m paying $208 for 1 year of web hosting, web domain support & eCommerce including through the major social media platforms. It does also allow me to list products, accept online payments and offer shipping options to customers. My products all fit in a number 10 envelope, so unless someone orders 1-5 lbs of them (not likely) there won’t be any shipping needs beyond that or for any international sales, at least for the short term.
Are there anything unique to Shopify that makes it more appealing to our customers or any advantages (in product or SEO) that GoDaddy does not have?
Tx, Jay
