If I’ve used multiple sites that use Shopify is there a way to see my activity across those sites? (Verify that it was legitimate?)
Hi, @DocKaos !
Welcome to the Shopify Community. This is a great question. The answer is mostly a no, as Shopify supports merchants in being independent business owners, meaning unlike Etsy, or Amazon for example, we don’t house all of our merchants under our name, or only on one website. With Shopify, merchants can build and customize an online store and sell in multiple places, including web, mobile, social media, online marketplaces, brick-and-mortar locations, and pop-up shops.
That being said, have you heard of the Shop app at all? It was developed so that customers using Shopify stores can tracking their online orders more easily, as well as pay with our own Shop Pay. This will be the closest you can get to seeing your activity across all sites that are using Shopify as a platform to host their business. Note that not all Shopify stores are connected to the Shop app, as they must meet certain criteria to be eligible, or may choose to not be a part of it. There is a great breakdown of the app in our Introducing Shop App blog post that I’d recommend checking out.
As for the last part of your question, what do you mean by verify that it was legitimate? Are you trying to find a way to make sure you’re placing online orders with credible stores? Let me know what you mean, and I can follow up on this!
Great response. Thanks!
For the “legitimate” part I’m thinking of purchases that were made by a bad actor using an account. So when you get one of the “Shop Pay Codes” that you didn’t expect, you can go in and verify that the purchase did not go through.
Cheers!
