The way i currently have my offer set up is a point of confusion with customers since none of the items in cart nor at checkout are actually being shown as “Free”. It a discount on the total.

I’m so so so sorry that because due to how our app mechanics work, BOGOS can’t somehow customize this for you 
I did some research to find alternatives, but it seems no apps fully support this since it doesn’t quite align with how bundles or quantity breaks typically work.
Instead, I’d suggest using our Buy X, Get Y feature by default:
Setup a Buy 2 Get 1 free
Setup a Buy 3 Get 2 free
→ to create a tiered offer like what you want
