Latest POS update (Sep 22nd 2024) slows checkout process

The latest POS update, which adds two more screens (and loading screens in between them) to go through when adding each item to the cart from the smart grid, has made the checkout process way slower for our business.

Also the way to add multiple of an item has changed and now takes 1-2 seconds to load after each press.

This is causing headaches for our staff and causing longer wait times for customers. I hope it is fixed soon, or reverted back to the way it was last week, which worked perfectly.

It’s honestly horrible.

Hey @Jackson_McLean -

I saw this today and was quite upset, too, but then discovered that there’s a new new update which removes the issue. That accursed “+” symbol was actually fixed a couple months ago - I guess that fix must’ve been left out of the last update but was thankfully returned in this one!

Hey @Jackson_McLean ,

I’m pretty sure @Chrisjigsaw got the answer right! Not to sound too sales-y but I can’t help it… It’s exactly these staff headaches and long customer wait times that we eliminate with pendoo.io. With a 3-minute setup, your next customer could simply scan the product and check out on their phone in seconds. All the while, your staff focuses on helping out other customers instead of carrying out transactions!

They added 3 more clicks per checkout. Who approved this horrible update!

“turn screen to customer”?? “Return device to staff”

Insane UX update.

screens like like that should have on/off options.

The way they changed how you change quantities is a headache now. I can choose the product, highlight the number, and change it to the correct amount the customer is buying like before. However, now I need to hit enter before “save” is available to tap. If I type in the quantity and hit save, it doesn’t seem to save. This is going to slow our process down quite a lot. Sigh.

How do we revert back to not having all these extra screens. Getting ready for huge popup and don’t have time for this extra mess. Thx.
