Hello all,
I am having an issue where the Local Feed Partnership keeps coming back after we have deleted it from Merchant Center. We have attempted to set up local product listings multiple times, but the local feed partnership would send product information without descriptions so we just decided to put it on hold for a while. It will come back, we’ll delete it and a day or two later it will pop up again. We can’t seem to find a pattern with the products that are in the feed. It’s usually around 40-60 products out of our catalog of 3K. Yesterday, we deleted Shopify POS since that is where the product information comes from and sure enough, today, it was back in Merchant Center. Has anyone ever experienced this?
If you are using the Google Shopping and Youtube app, make sure that you disable local listings in the settings. By disconnecting your Google Business Profile.

Hi Emmanuel,
We uninstalled Goolge and Youtube a couple of weeks ago thinking it was causing us problems. We’re using Multifeeds now based off of your recommendation a saw in another thread. We’ve been dealing with a lot of strange things for the past year with the Shopify and Merchant Center connection.
The multifeeds app is a great solution. I have been using it for a long time for all my clients.
Have you ever encountered the Local Feed Partnership inserting products listings that belong to someone else?
Don’t know what you are asking. Can you provide more details please.
Hi Emmanuel, below the disconnect button it states “Local products will sync from Shopify to Google Merchant Center and your Google Business Profile”. I don’t want local products to show on my google merchant center or google business profile but I still want my products in my google merchant center. If I proceed to disconnect will it delete the products in the merchant center too?
If you only disconnect local products, then the normal shopping listings will still be in your Google Merchant Center account.
Hi - how do I disable the local products feed, please - I am going round in circles at the moment?
There should be a setting in the google and youtube settings named, local listings.
Hi! Cheers for the tip, I have done exactly this. Wondering when this GMC will sync and remove all the products for local feed? They’re essentially duplicates of proper products, but without most attributes/images/text and causing issues for our store from having its Content API products appearing properly.
Is this going to be synced within 24 hours ?
What’s your experience?
Cheers!
Yes that is correct, local feeds, should only contain ID, availability, price, etc, so about maximum 10 attributes.
They are not duplicates, they are unique listings, for local product inventory feed. Which is very different from shopping ads.
But any change you made should be updated in 24 hours.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Awesome, I already disconnected it from the Google + Youtube sales channel on shopify about an hour ago, so I’ll wait. And only after then should I click the “Fix” on the “Fix all setup and policy issues that prevent your products from showing on Google” warning I’m seeing?
I’ve since matched exactly the name of the business and the email on the provided contact. I just don’t want to “fix” before local feed is gone.
Tried to follow your advice but cannot find where to do this.
Also does the Google Shopping and Youtube app keep generating a local feed when the other feature is disabled?
If you are stuck and you want to fix it yourself, contact Google here: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app
I have. It uploaded a picture of products like mine but are NOT mine
If in shopping listings you are seeing other peoples images, that means you are in a grouped listing. In this case, Google will use the images in the pool of all merchants that had the highest performance.
Hello @EmmanuelFlossie !
I cant find the local settings in the google & youtube app.. could you please send a screenshot of where it is or guide me?
Would be highly appreciated!
Make sure you first connect your google business profile
