"Local Feed Partnership" Google Feed Problem

Our Google Merchant Centre show 2 feeds…

{1) “Content API” which seems okay.

(2) “Local Feed Partnership” which seems to deliver more or less the same products as “Content API” but often without description, Price or Photo. Sometimes, but not always, the Vendor name is added to the from of the Product Title. This feed also includes some deleted products and occasionally the picture is for the wrong product.

These are Shopify feeds, I don’t have any other feeds or apps running delivering products to Shopify.

Can I fix the “Local Feed Partnership” feed somehow so the fields are properly populated and only products where the Google channel is selected are included? Or would it be better to stop or delete the “Local Feed Partnership” and if so, how?

Many thanks in advance for advice and suggestions.

You could try and delete the feed in Google Merchant Center, then see if the Google Shopping & Youtube app re-submits the correct data.

I have not heard anyone say it submits incomplete data.

Please note that if its the primary feed, then usually you don’t need an additional feed, you can in theory just enable the one content api feed with local product feeds.

Then making sure you submit a local product inventory feed in the supplement section.

Or alternatively you could setup your own feed using: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Thank you Emmanuel for a helpful response. I’ll take it step by step and have started by deleting the feed.

Did you ever get this solved? I have the same problem but it is the local product inventory feed showing items not in stock when I haven’t changed anything to my shopify listings, and all items are in stock. It also will update periodically and show missing prices or descriptions when not changes have been made there either.

Definitely still an issue with Shopify and Google Local feed. All products according to Google, have a missing description. In fact they do not. Manual feed as you suggested, does not solve this issue.

@Kel86 If Google says missing description, that is usually the primary feed. Test 1 product, by editing the something, this will force a push. Then in 24 hours, check in Google Merchant Center if that specific product still has an issue.

If you don’t want to use a different app to resolve the issue, then I recommend you contact Google here: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app

Did you ever get this resolved? If I resolve this issue, I’ll comeback here and share. Thanks!

Based on the previous reply which is over a year ago, the person did not reply. So I doubt they will reply to your question @PauloMiguel .

My recommendation is to create a new thread and detail your issues, so that community members can guide you, based on the info you shared.

Having the exact same issue. There is no where to get an answer on this.

I deleted the feed and just kept Google API. If anyone has figured out how to get the local feed working with Shopify please let us know what steps were taken.

I recommend if you need local ads, is to use the app mentioned in an earlier reply.

Or if you need Google to fix this for you, contact them here: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app

I am having the same problems as all the others on this feed. This has never been resolved despite goign back and forth between Shopify and Google. I am bounced around to various agents, and nothing resolved. Maddening since I just have a small antiques and art gallery retail shop which started online only. So far, impossible to fix, and going in circles no matter what I try. I will look at your links, but it is crazy that this integration between Shopify and Google is so sloppy when we pay so much to be on Shopify to start with.

From my understanding, the google and youtube app has never been well maintained, it’s an app I never use due to it’s many flaws. I prefer paid apps, as the support is amazing, as you can imagine you are paying for it.

But the google and youtube app is free, and the support reflects this.
