Localizing specific content for translations

Hi guys,

Recently I have posted 2 two messages about translations, but my knowledge was too low to precisie what exactly do I mean. Here is my final post I think :slightly_smiling_face: BTW, sorry for confusing you guys in previous posts.

So the problem is:
I have a problem with translating / adjusting text content of my store.
As you can see on screen 1

I want to (just for example) localize and change alphabetical sorting text.
I thought, that it would be that easy to localize it by 'Translate and adapt", but it’s not working. I click on ‘Collection page’ and ‘Localize’,
but editor goes to section shown on screen 2.

The only option I can see, is to go to ‘Edit content of default theme’ (screen 3)

and then manually filter it by object text, that I want to change (screen 4)

It will be really hard work to translate all of phrases this way.
I can also translate all phrases one after another (Search results, …, Chckout & system, etc.), but the problem is, that I don’t see a context, or exact place where this text appears, so I cannot logically translate it (sometimes translations of the same text may vary in different contextes / store locations)

Is that any other way to make this translations manually?
Automatic translations makes mistakes, and I still need to correct them.

Hi,

Hope this will help

  • If auto-translation messes up do manually adjust texts

Online Store → Themes → Click on Actions → Edit default theme content→Search Bar, type a keyword related to the sorting text (e.g., “Alphabetical”)→ Locate phrase, modify it & save.

  • For bulk translation you can use Shopify Translate API or other app

Hi @happify21

To translate the sorting option, you can check the default theme content translations on the Translate and Adapt app ( check the screenshot )
