Looking for a smoother way to handle price difference refunds after a promotion

Hi everyone,

At our store, we often run promotions and special discounts. Naturally, when we launch a new promo, some customers who purchased items just before the sale reach out asking for a refund of the price difference.

Currently, we handle this manually — we calculate the difference between the original price they paid and the new promo price, then issue a partial refund.

While this works, it’s time-consuming and not scalable as our volume grows.
Has anyone found a more efficient or automated way to manage these post-purchase refund requests?
Maybe an app or a Shopify Flow solution that helps streamline the process?

Any tips, workflows, or best practices would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

@Roy-soho , while the premise is simple enough. The complexity comes in handling the offers and the refund aspect dynamically, which means that flows might not cut it for this.

Some questions for you

  1. Are your offers always automatic discounts, or can it also be coupon codes that can be used by the customer ?
  2. The offers in question - are they product specific / are they on every item on the store ?

Based on the answers we might be able to work out a solution that can help handle pre-promo refund use cases :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks
