Looking to translate the Product type field to show different text to customer facing website

Looking to see if there is a way to map a field translation from Shopify Admin area “Product Type” value entered to front end customer facing site for filtering in search purpose.

Our “new” ERP system requires this field for correct product hierarchy and would like to display a different value when the search menu drop down populates.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

You can edit the wording of this field by going to Online Store > Theme > Actions > Edit Languages and entering the text" Product Type" in the “Search” field and then you can edit the existing content or add new content.
