Hi,
I’m an Australia-based business owner and recently launched my store on Shopify. My goal is to sell products globally in multiple currencies while receiving payouts in Australian dollars.
Since I’m on the Basic plan, I’ve received conflicting advice from Shopify support. Some advisors have told me I’m limited to selling in only three currencies. Others—who appeared more experienced—have said this limitation doesn’t apply, and the issue likely stems from custom code implemented by my developer or improperly coded themes.
As the issue appears to be code-related and outside the scope of general support, I was referred back to my developer. He contacted Shopify directly and was again told that the Basic plan only supports up to three currencies.
At this point, I’m feeling quite frustrated with the conflicting information and being sent back and forth. I’ve now been advised to reach out to the Shopify Expert Community for further guidance.
Could someone please clarify the actual currency limitations on the Basic plan and advise how to resolve this issue?
Additionally, since launching the site, I haven’t received any online sales—only a few test orders and two personal referrals. Is it possible that the custom code could be interfering with the sales process or preventing orders from being placed? If so, how can I identify and correct this?
Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Sher
